The key to change is to let go of fear

About Me

I’m a 1969 model Israeli, and that means a lot. Born in Tel-Aviv and currently living in Tel-Mond with Einat, a Yoga instructor and Speech Therapist, and our children Zohar, Adam, Ella and Tommy (the family Shih-Tzu).

With a Bachelors’ degree in Archeology from the Ben-Gurion University in the Negev, my professional post-IDF life began as a field archeologist with numerous excavations all over Israel.

Funny enough, the universe threw me many curve balls and somehow, I ended up here. A veteran High-Tech Entrepreneur with a focus on Cyber Security. I co-founded several companies, sold a couple of them, and am extremely active in my field.

I’m very passionate with everything I choose to focus on, and I don’t stop. Currently, my focus is saving children’s lives. I do that by spearheading L1ght’s technology (as Co-Founder and CTO). But my path is not yet finished, and opportunities will never stop.

1 Hashtag, 2 Clicks… & You Are a Certified Pedophile
Is what was once immoral, now becoming moral? — Not too long ago, being a drug dealer, undercover agent, arms seller or pedophile,  was a very difficult thing. And until around three years ago, if anyone wanted to be part of these “respectable”, groups, and have an online presence, either for business or pleasure, they had to know how to hide, and by hiding, I mean really hide. 2 ways social networks could control toxic content
From headlines about YouTube allowing racist and homophobic harassment in the comments section to revelations that GIPHY is playing host to child pornography and white supremacy imagery or even moderators accusing Facebook for giving them PTSD, it’s clear that platforms across the board are failing to keep their sites free of toxic content or approach moderation properly. The Hippocratic Oath Vs. The Zuckerberg Legacy
When paramedics begin training, the first thing they learn is to protect themselves before treating patients. They are imprinted with the understanding that if they are either wounded or hurt, they will not be able to help others, hence putting both themselves and their patients at risk. Read more…
Hiding in plain S1ght
The word “Hentai” (変態), literally meaning “metamorphosis, or: a state of being different,” is associated with a perverted fetish, and is an excellent example of something that got lost in translation between Eastern and Western Cultures. Read more…

Hate Speech, Digital Toxicity & Cyber Vulnerability
Nobody can deny the fact that humanity is continually swamping our planet with highly toxic content and garbage. Yet most people don’t understand that just as we are polluting our planet, we are swamping the internet with toxic communication, most of which will be accessible forever. However, out of this darkness, a positive side is emerging with genuinely concerned people and companies stepping up and using various means to try to counter it. Read more…

CONSULTING

From a statistical standpoint, my success rate stands at 41.6%. I founded 6 startups and sold 2.5 of them.

With no official background in either technology or business, I was forced to learn fast. Initially how to be a good techie and eventually how to manage and create businesses. I was challenged by my technological peers on all things security (nowadays we call it “Cyber”), infrastructure, DB’s, coding, networks and more, as well as by my investors on all things budget, ESOP, valuations and the likes.

I managed sales funnels, marketing teams, PR interactions and distributors, all while traveling the globe more than 250 days a year.

Mostly, I had the pleasure of managing talented people, much more talented and educated than me in their relevant fields. I was responsible for their well being and their livelihood, and at most times, succeeded.

the fellowship

Entrepreneurs are required to make hundreds of decisions a day as well as face business “do or die” dilemmas. Each decision, each dilemma, has its own risks and awards, each carrying some weight, some more than others. A smart entrepreneur will gather a clan. A fellowship of people, that will be there for him in these moments so he can learn and rely on their wisdom and objectivity.
